1. What is Total Reflectivity?
SPECULAR REFLECTIVITY
+ DIFFUSE REFLECTIVITY = TOTAL REFLECTIVITY
2. What is the reflection efficiency?
- It is an efficiency of luminance that changes in accordance with the angle
of reflector or material of the reflector. Refection efficiency is not
in direct proportional to the reflection rate.
3. What is the major difference
between the anodized aluminum reflector and a film reflector?
- the anodized aluminum reflector has more than 20 years of durability with
no deformation or discoloration whereas the film reflector, vulnerable to heat,
has a short life span having deformation and discoloration after a few years
of use.
4. For what purpose the reflectors
are used?
- Main purposes of using the reflectors are: first, to increase illumination:
second, to protect the eyesight by absorbing ultraviolet rays released from
lamp; third, to save energy by cutting down the arrangement of lightings owing
to the strengthened illumination.
5. Is there any difference
in the use of the reflectors in foreign advanced countries and in Korea?
- In the advanced countries, the louver is used to prevent computer-glaring
phenomenon in office buildings. By using the louver, however, the reflection
rate is lowered so they use reflector in order to adjust brightness. In
Korea, the reflectors are used only for the purpose of increasing illumination.
However, as computer-equipped offices are on the rise in Korea, the use of reflectors
will likely to change to that of the advanced countries.
6. What is the purpose of using
the parabolic louver?
- The main purpose to use the parabolic louver is related to an indirect illumination.
It cuts off the ultraviolet rays emitted by a lamp and diminishes the glaring
phenomenon in computers, thereby protecting the eyesights.
7. What types of parabolic
louvers are used?
- In Korea, roughly four types of louvers are in use; 2", 3", compound
and slim. The 2" and 3" types are categorized by the height
of the louver, with 2" representing the height of 50mm and 3" 75mm.
Compound and slim louvers have many subtypes so that they can be adjusted by
construction site in case a building contour does not fit.
8. Are the louvers for export
and those for domestic sales identical?
- There are many differences between the domestic louvers and those for exports.
In general, Japan industry uses the 3" type and prefers a reflex material
while the US requests various types of louvers. Hence, we are exporting several
types of louvers. We are currently trying to apply those for exports in the
Korean market. However, sales in the Korean market are not so brisk because
of the expensive price.
9. What is the difference between
imported material and domestic material?
- One company seems to be using domestically produced aluminum for manufacturing
the louvers. But if you use domestic aluminum, the materials are much
damaged in the course of louver assembly and the surface of louver does not
become uniform, providing no guarantee of life span. However, if you use imported
anodized aluminum, there will be no problem at all because the material is not
damaged and the life span of more than 20 years can be guaranteed with no discoloration
or corrosion at all. Main clients we supply are government offices.
